The Da Vinci Exhibition

This was my second visit to the Singapore Science Centre within a year. The da Vinci Exhibition. i had been wanting to go there and i finally got my chance 2 days back.
Leonardo da Vinci. A genius man with a myriad of talents. He was a master in the arts and sciences. Looking through the exhibition, i was left in awe by his ingenuity. His passion towards flight led him to many trials and experimentation. There were so many ideas in his little notebook. It left me thinking that with passion alone, ideas are limitless. But ideas werent what Leonardo had. He went ahead and built many of his ideas into real-life constructions, with many ending up on his theatrical productions. He was also involved in the construction of military arsenal, even though he was not an advocate towards the killing of people. He had many engineering feat, with quite a fair share in the hydraulics segment.
On the arts side, who can ever leave out the world famous Mona Lisa painting. i never really had much knowledge about this drawing before this. Only knew that it was internationally recognised and prized, and Mona Lisa had an ambiguous smile. i never knew there was a veil on her head. i never knew her eyebrows and eyelashes are not visible, either due to time deterioration or that Leonardo left it out in the drawing. i never knew there were some water damage on the drawing all thanks to Napolean. And i never knew someone threw a rock at the drawing, leaving a damage far worse than Napolean, and all because the madman couldnt understand how she could be so at peace with herself.
On the whole, it was quite an informative exhibtion. There were a few videos here and there which are pretty interesting. But i must say, the quality and standard of the exhibition surely wasnt worth the $15 i paid for. $10 was the max i was willing to part with for this exhibition. Maybe they should have student rate.
