Exam Fever

Right in the midst of this examination period, i seemed to have caught on the fever. But the weirdiest thing is that i'm not even taking any papers. i'm just caught in this situation where people around me, who are close, are busy mugging, so to speak.

The two kids whom i'm tutoring just finished their primary school mid-year examination recently. Just this week, i was busy shuttling between their homes to give them some last minute cramming and revision. It left me pretty tired mentally, even though it was just primary school work. It's easy for people our level to understand primary school concepts, but having to get the concept understood by the boys wasnt easy.

Other than my tutees, today, i got involved in helping my younger brother with his revision on Principle of Accounts(POA). Do take note, i never studied POA during my secondary school days. This incident left me pretty pissed off this afternoon when i quizzed my brother over the topics that would be covered for his exam. He couldnt give a satisfactory answer. In other words, he wasnt sure of it himself. This alone left me infuriated. In my mind, i was like, "OH, COME ON! You do not know what the range of topics covered for your exam are? Just what have you been doing in school during your POA lessons?". But i felt that flaring up wasnt going to solve anything. The priority was to solve the task at hand. i asked him, "Where's your textbook?". His reply was, "I left it in school...". i almost snapped. The only accounting stuffs were this file with some worksheets inside which are not exactly sorted out nicely. i took the matter to hand and thankfully, managed to dig out a POA textbook which was left behind by my cousin. i tallied the information inside the file with the textbook content pages and tried figuring out the likely topics being tested. And before long, i was reading the chapters. There just wasnt enough time to get angry. It was time to move on and get some shit into my head so that i can explain stuffs to my brother. Initially i wanted to enlist Melissa's help due to her accounting background. But i believe she also has her exams to frustrate over. As a result, i'll do the consultation on any doubts that arise during my self-studying of POA. 3 chapters on and i'm starting to get some idea about accounting, but i'm still having trouble getting debit and credit into my head right, especially with the numerous types of accounts that are out there. What's left is Trial Balance, Trade and P&L, and Balance Sheets. i need to get all 6 chapters sorted out in my head ASAP and the moment i achieved that, i'll get them sorted out in my brother's head.
