Dont let anything kill your creativity

Earlier this week, one of the kid whom i was tutoring surprised me in a positive fashion. It was a gross encounter but now that i think back, it was an interesting display of creativity. This was what happened.

Halfway through the tuition session, my kid asked me if he could go and shit. But he's quite a joker so sometimes i have to interpret through his body language and tone to see if he was just kidding. But i will never stop someone from going to the toilet. So i jokingly told him, "Later you bring your shit and show me ah?". He chuckled and left for the toilet. While i was waiting for him, i could hear him singing in the toilet. He's one amusing dude. i was busy looking at a magazine when he popped next to me, holding something in his hand. Then he opened his palm and showed me his used toilet paper with the stain on it and started laughing loudly. Right there and then, i was like "WTF?!". But that was a mental note. i didnt say it out.

Okay. i dont know what kind of view you're holding with regard to this but certainly, i see it as a interesting display of creativity. It also brings to me the point of how people can have different perspective with respect to a statement. When i said to bring the shit to me, i was thinking of it literally as using your hand and sinking it into the toilet bowl and grabbing the shit out to show it to me. Never did i realise his small little young mind managed to think of a different way of presenting my request right before my very eye. The whole incident may be disgusting, but it sure set me recalling it and thinking of it in a different light. i suppose a young mind is still capable of thinking creatively before the rigid education system transforms him/her into a mindless information-regurgitating robot. i hope my kid can maintain his talent.

And lastly, to wrap up this day, Happy Birthday!
