The Adult Fare is Killing Me Slowly

On April 1st, i topped up $20 to my EZ-Link Card. Less than 1 week later, on April 7th, i topped up my EZ-Link Card once again, this time $40. i have been travelling around Singapore alot recently. The adult fare is really draining me. i have an adult mentality but i do not have an adult lifestyle. My income, for now, is approximately $500 a month, much less than what i'm earning during NS. Frequency of travelling has increased. Frequency of eating out has increased. Basically, my expenditure has been increasing. Nothing in my life is decreasing. Oh wait, there is. My income! Argh!!! And the market hasnt been going easy on me with the inflation.

In any case, i'm not about to stay home and live off with anything that i can find in the refrigerator. That will be totally stupid. It will just bring me back to being the frog in the well. Ever since i left the army and became operationally-ready, i have been opening my eyes and mind to many things, especially from February. The work and experience that i had while i was at S Marketing allowed me to learn alot. Because it is an SME, and that i get many chances to make conversations with the boss directly, i felt more in control with what i can do in the company. Although responsibilities were limited and slightly restricted, i still felt that it was better than working in some large corporations. In there, what you do will most likely be some data entry or handling calls. Or maybe some "miscellaneous" responsibilities that most likely test you on your muscle strength. i'm a guy, so that kind of responsibilities are inevitable, especially since i just came out of National Service. Well, as i was saying, i will prefer to be more in control of what i do with my time. As of now, i'm giving tuition and it's paying me pretty well. i get to earn $25 for forking out 1.5 hours of my time, excluding travelling time. As with the remaining hours of my time for the week, i get to do what i like with it. It may seem like my total income for the month is low, but compared to someone who earns more than me in a month and the disposable time that he has at hand, i am more happy with my current lifestyle. So it will be what i do with the disposable time that i have that makes my current lifestyle more worthwhile. As to what i do, i'll leave that to another entry.

SBS and SMRT should have another segment of travelling fare for people my age and my kind of lifestyle. Oh well.....
