Mileage Part 2
i finally got my ass out there and started going for a short run. i limited myself to a 20-minute run near my estate. Using Google Earth, i measured the distance i ran to be approximately 2.43km. A pretty sucky distance for that time. That will be what i would say a few months ago while i was still in NS. But considering that i haven been getting a workout for a long time, and that i dared not push myself too much, i will say it's some decent light jog. My objective for today was to do a 20-minute jog. Not to push myself hard. To go easy on myself. At certain parts of my run, i really felt like pushing myself a little harder but i decided not to do so. i had the mental strength to do that, considering that my mind kept asking my legs to go faster. But i knew, if i attempt to push myself to the limit, or somewhere near there, i wont be able to function well for the rest of the day. i had to give tuition later on, so i had to control that urge. Anyway, it has been a good start. What's left is to sustain the flame of enthusiasm and determination burning strong. i will try to find another time of the week where i will be available to do more cardio workouts. As for strength training, i can always do it at home almost anytime. P.S i went to concoct myself a recovery drink after my run. Pretty cheapskate la. And no, i didnt add protein powder. Not that kind of recovery drink. i'm not rich to afford that. i basically just added sugar, for the glucose to recover the energy lost, and i added salt to recover the sodium lost through sweat. Not comparable with a Gatorade® drink, but still decent enough to recover the energy and sodium.
