Shedding blood in the most improbable place

i cant even begin to comprehend how the hell i can injure myself in that area in the first place, what more an open wound. According to wikipedia, the sole of the foot contains the thickest layers of skin on the human body due to the weight that is continually placed on them. So, an open wound in that area leaves me totally dumbfounded. Here are some pictures, i'm sorry if i left you disgusted but i dont care! =)

This wound totally left the toe area of my left slipper super ultra bloody.

i'm so proud of myself for being able to properly bandage my wound. (clap please!!)

Okay, so the story goes like this:

i was travelling back home by MRT on Jan 5th night. It was getting kind of late so i want to get home fast, but i definitely wasnt rushing. Going up the escalator, i decided to take the right path where i can walk up at my own pace. i guess the problem lies with my slippers, which is due for a change. As i was walking up the steps, i didnt raise my foot high enough, so the front part of my slipper didnt clear the barrier enough and i tripped. i tried to break my fall with my left hand, but then, as the result shows, it didnt help one bit. i walked for about 5 metres, and my left toe felt damn freaking pain. i didnt really care about it initially because i know the sole of your feet is thick with many layers of dead skin, so i thought it was just any other normal pain if you accidentally bang it on some surface. Another 5 metres and i knew something was wrong with the growing, wincing pain. i took a look, and had quite a shock. i didnt expect it to be bleeding. And not only that, my whole toe was blood-ish red. i decided not to post any photo of this scene because that would be too gruesome. Really, i'm not kidding.

Well, i guess karma caught up with me after that. i forgot to wash off the blood on my slippers and the following day, my mum wore my slippers to the market. i woke up in the morning and asked her if she noticed anything on my slippers, and she said, "No. Nothing. What about it?" Then i asked her if she wore it, she said yes. Then i totally felt damn guilty. i told her the whole matter and she kind of freak out a little. Oh well, my pair of slippers was dark blue in colour and the dried blood was a little camouflaged by it. i'm naughty! =)
