Happy Birthday Jasin + B.Hood Gathering

We celebrated Jasin's birthday 5 days in advance. So i think it'll be too early for me to say out loud, "Happy Birthday Jasin!", but if i dont do it now, i wont be able to do it on time because i will be away in Hokkaido. So here goes:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASIN!

It was a wonderful day today. The brotherhood finally met up after the last time on 1st Jan 2007, just short of Josiah. But because it was Jasin's birthday party, the crowd wasnt exclusively the brotherhood. Her friends were there too, and i must say, when you put a group of girls together, nothing but noise comes out from it. Zi Yang couldnt stand the group of girls. i personally also found the noise level a little distasteful, but it was still within my tolerable level because i was expecting it. Well, back to what i was saying, the brotherhood meet-up finally occurred after more than a year. i missed seeing everyone, although i must say that i see Yaowen pretty often. But it was the union of the brothers, that got me really happy.

This time, there are two more additions to the brotherhood gang. Weiming and Lionel brought their significant others to our gathering. Lionel was a little screwed up. i dont know what's in his mind, but well, the whole thing is complicated and long so i'll just simply say that Lionel screwed up in the introduction between us and his partner. Weiming's girl didnt mix around with us much because she knew quite a few of Jasin's friends and were busy chit-chatting with the all-girl-group. But i guess this is how things are like whenever a guy brings a girl into our gathering. The starting isnt easy and simple. It takes time for the ice to break.

i reached Daowei's place earlier, together with Yaowen and Jasin to prepare the food. i had a part to play in the sotong, fruit salad, the potatoes and baby potatoes, and the egg mayonnaise. It was really fun and interesting to learn how to prepare food. i think i'm going to learn more culinary skills from Yaowen when i get the chance. i'm still a greenhorn in this area but i'm willing to learn. It's very important to learn how to feed yourself, especially when i know of somebody whose tongue is extremely picky.

All in all, i had mixed feelings for the whole event. i love the people around me, but i hated the fact that i couldnt eat any of the BBQ food. Recently, a cough caught up with me and i haven been able to shake it off. And i'm trying very hard to get well before i embark on my Hokkaido trip. It was a almost purely potato diet for me today. Very pathetic. Extremely scary. i think i'm going to have a nightmare of potatoes chasing me. Thankfully, at least i still had one food that i could eat that is from the BBQ pit, and that is the sotong. Because it wasnt exactly barbequed (it was put on a aluminium foil and cooked over the heat), i guess i could eat it without getting into trouble. So far, so good. My cough is still with me. It hasnt worsen, neither has it gotten better. i guess i'm going to gulp down more water to flush out the toxins in me.

i am very glad for today. It was a good day. Enjoyable. Fun. Interesting. Today will be committed to a part of my lovely memory. Thank you guys!
