Prom Night 2005
*1st December 2005* It was a night to remember. The day itself too. Why the day too? Because i had to travel round half the island to settle many stuffs, partly due to my laziness in getting things done at the last minute. i knew i had to get many things done so i got my arse up in the morning earlier than usual. i went to get myself a new pair of spectacles made in Clementi, which meant i had to move towards the West. When i got there, the lady boss told me it hasnt arrived and would only come in the afternoon after 2pm. Then i realised i was in deep shit because i had to specially make a trip down there again. Many people asked if my new pair of glasses was because of Prom. i answered no. i said it was because my previous pair was getting rusty in some areas. Actually, the truth is that my new glasses were partly because of Prom. i had wanted a new look for Prom. i didnt want to wear that hideous-looking and rusty pair of glasses. Anyway, with that new pair of spectacles, one of my classmate said i looked like Robin(Batman's sidekick). Do i? And Yaowen said i looked like some cartoon character. Guess what? The frame of my glasses is almost exactly the same as Jasin's. When she found out about that, i tried to twist the fact that she copied me. But i failed to. Her glasses were made many months ago. Damn!! i had to rush down to Beach Hotel for check-in at noon. It is a 2-star hotel. Considering the price of $85 for a night, i have to say that it is value for money already. They have cable television too. But the place really looked....sucky. i couldnt find a proper adjective in my limited vocabulary to describe the place. i was down on luck on not finding enough people to share a room in Swissôtel. The air-conditioner became frozen the next day when we went back into the room. Here are some pictures: ![]() ![]() There is a hose above. i think there was water flowing out from there. That was how the solid ice came about on the air-conditioner. It was pretty scary actually. When i entered the room, the air-conditioner cover and filter was on the floor. i was wondering why the hell those objects were on the floor. i thought it had a mini explosion or something. Anyway, we guys actually wasted money getting a room from Beach Hotel. We ended up sleeping over at the girls' room in Swissôtel. It was mostly Jiawei's fault, but i'm not exactly blaming him. He fell asleep over there and in the end, Yuxuan and i walked all the way there because Amanda and Michelle wanted to play mahjong. In the end, when we reached there, we found Jiawei awake. i really wonder whether those 2 girls played a prank on me and Yuxuan just because they were lazy to come over to our hotel room. But i'm a nice guy. i believe they're not like that. =X That idiot Jiawei, who didnt even share the cost of the girls' room in Swissôtel, ended up sleeping on the bed by himself. Yuxuan and i had to make do with the chairs, without blankets. And Amanda had to sleep on the floor. Tsk tsk tsk, Jiawei, you ought to be ashame of yourself. You're lucky Huiyan was out all night. Otherwise we would have another person on the floor. Prom Night wasnt exactly very memorable to me. i hardly touched every dish. Most of the time went into taking pictures and still i missed out taking pictures with a few people. Everyone was so busy taking pictures with one another that the emcee for the event, not someone from NJC unfortunately, had to specifically annouce to all to stop taking pictures and go back to their seats. Why? Because the next dish cannot be served when the current dish is still sitting on the table waiting to be cleared by us. This is so hilarious, and embarrassing at the same time. The photographs for Prom Night can be viewed here. Some of us wanted to go clubbing at Club Home in Boat Quay after Prom. In the end, we didnt. One reason was because we didnt have the tickets. Secondly, we couldnt find the place. And thirdly, we heard that it was super crowded. As a result, we(Amanda, Michelle, Yuxuan, Jiawei & i) made our way down to the 24-hr the coffee club near Cineleisure. We had chocolate fondew there. The chocolate was damn shiok! Very nice. Not too sweet. It reminded me of the chocolate fondew sessions over at my aunt's place. 2 sessions only actually, but they still bring back memories. i love dipping honeydew into the pool of chocolate. It is totally yummylicious and finger-lickin' good! With our failed clubbing attempt, we decided to satisfy our alcohol cravings from 7-11. Jiawei got Tiger, Yuxuan got Stella Artois, and i got Corona. i told Yuxuan to get Stella Artois after remembering Daowei telling me that Stella Artois is good. But i seriously beg to differ. Its bitter taste isnt exactly to my liking. Corona wasnt anywhere better. It was bitter too. But Stella Artois' lingering bitter after-taste was stronger and longer. Anyway, the highlight for that night after Prom wasnt exactly about the satisfaction of our alcohol desires. It was the sight and experience of Amanda getting drunk. This was totally interesting and funny. She literally grabber Jiawei's Tiger and my Corona and started drinking them without permission and to nobody's business. Her cheeks didnt exactly went red but her actions and behaviour started to show what it was like to be under the influence of alcohol. i had wanted for her to continue drinking more to see her getting dead drunk and witness what she would do under that state. But Yuxuan and Yulin stopped her from drinking more, mainly because they didnt want her to puke on the carpet floor. That was very true and i really didnt want that to happen. But one night, i tell you, one fine night i'm going to get her drunk to the extreme. And please, for goodness sake, dont take this with a dirty mind. i'll rather do 'it' with someone hotter and better-looking. Basically, this wraps up the 1st and 2nd of December 2005. i believe the memories will live in me forever with the help of this blog entry as well as the photographs. A real pity i didnt take pictures with a couple of people. There was this particular moment right outside the ballroom when many people were taking photographs with one another. It just so happened that she was very near me and i looked as if i was waiting for a moment to take a picture with her. Seriously, right at that time, i didnt think of doing so. My mind was pre-occupied with things other than that. Amanda thought i was looking for an opportunity to take a photo with her and questioned me. All i can say is that i wasnt thinking of that. But i must be quick to add that the following day, i think i regretted.
