Last year, my class had an outing to Marina. On our journey there, i recalled telling Amanda that Panadol, aka Paracetamol, is an alcohol and it can make people drunk. The other people around me thought i was fooling with them saying Panadol to be an alcohol. Well, guess what? i was right. Actually, when i said what i said, i wasnt fooling around. i wasnt even trying to make a fool out of everyone. Okay, maybe i was for the part on getting people drunk. Check out the structure above. Paracetamol contains a -OH group, a phenol to be more precise. So i'm not entirely wrong to say that Paracetamol is an alcohol.

*Update: i have come to realise that i am actually wrong to say that paracetamol is an alcohol. Although alcohol and phenol come under the class of hydroxy compounds, they are two different things.
