It was the scariest thing to experience, alive. Even as a nightmare, i wouldnt want to live through that.

It was 6.40am. Some noise woke me up from deep slumber. i gained conciousness and heard my mum seemingly making cough-like sound. i thought she was vomitting very badly. i jumped off my bed and put on my glasses in double quick time and rushed to the kitchen. The moment i saw no vomit on the floor, i became very, very confused.

'What the heck was going on?', i thought to myself. No vomit. And i see my mum struggling to breathe, with hands pressing on the chest. i still could not fathom what the hell was going on. Suddenly, my dad went round my mum's back, wrapped both his arms around her abdomen, and squeezed it. i realised my mum was choking on her food, and she couldnt breathe. She grabbed a bottle of water and gulped water down forcefully every now and then. i was worried and nervous to the core. i was so close to dialling 995.

Luckily, the dislodged food particle, which was a bite of a cake, came off her windpipe. The ordeal was terrible for me, and of course for my mum.

Ever heard of the saying "Scare the shit out of you"? It happened to me, and after the ordeal, my tummy was feeling extremely uncomfortable. i had to go shit, but none came out. Now, i feel uncomfortable eating food, with images of what happened this morning constantly recurring to my mind.

i'll never want to experience this again. i want to go learn CPR.
