Finally, all our effort and time have not been nothing. Happy 18th Birthday Amanda! You can buy your own booze and watch M18 movies now. This is practically what i'll say to everyone who turns 18 this year. A little too late to wish Amanda now, cos her birthday was yesterday. i'm really glad she enjoyed her birthday party over Siloso Beach, though 95% of what actually happened didnt go according to plan. This is really pathetic, i must say. i can only blame it on poor coordination and bad planning. Part of the plan was to draw this 'Happy Bday Amanda' thingy on the beach of an isle facing inland. Xiu Jing and i wanted it to be really big, and spanning across the entire beach. So big that anyone standing far away like over at Palawan beach will see. Okay, that is a huge exaggeration. What i actually meant was, standing at a distance of 200m away or further, you'll still be able to see it crisp and clear. In the end, i dont know what actually happened for this part of the plan. When i arrived, with the food, late, i saw nothing on the beach. Actually, i screwed up part of the birthday party myself. First, i totally forgot to buy plastic cups. i thought i had not forgotten anything. Paper plates, plastic spoons, plastic fork, wooden chopsticks, paper napkins. i thought i had everything covered. But i was dead wrong. i only realised about the cups when someone mentioned, 'Jason, where are the cups?'. In my mind, a lot of stuff began swirling in my head, especially the things which i had bought for that day. When i couldnt find the piece of image in my mind of purchasing plastic cups, i muttered, 'Shit! i forgot to buy them!'. Second thing was the food. i ordered too much of them. No one's to blame, except for those who said they were coming but in the end did not make it, either with valid or stupid reasons. i wont comment more on these people cos all i have to say is that they have the choice of coming or not. This is not like it is a compulsory remedial programme after school. Anyway, before everyone started eating, i was so dead sure there will be mountains of food left over, and i was dead right too. i must really thank David for 'ta-pao-ing' some fried rice back. The amount of leftover was really enormous. In the end, i brought all the leftovers home. Guess what, when i reached home, i had a aching right arm all thanks to the leftovers. Can you just imagine how heavy it is? Can you imagine just how much food was not consumed? i was breaking out in streams of pespiration all over my head when i got home. This is worse than my regular bout of training. Pespiration never felt so stream-y. i will stop my whines and complains. Cos that day was a very lucky day for me. If my elder brother didnt lend me his Sentosa Islander Card, i will be many dollars poorer for entering Sentosa twice. If my cousin didnt have her day off from work, if my uncle didnt lend the van to my cousin as my transport, if my cousin's boyfriend wasnt out from camp, i'll practically die from transporting the food to Sentosa from different parts of Singapore. There were 5 locations i had to travel to. Jurong(Parc Oasis), Bukit Batok(Hillview), Bukit Merah(my home), C.K.Tang and Alexandra Food Centre. And the final destination was Sentosa Siloso Beach. i really really really cannot imagine how the food will transport themselves there if i didnt secured my mode of transport, which my uncle's van, and my great chauffeur, my cousin! Anyway, all these planning and running around has screwed up my race tomorrow. It is the Allcomers Meet tmr. i'm running 200m and i forgot to bring my spikes home from school. Sigh, this is a really problematic problem. But all is not lost. Amanda managed to help me borrow spikes from someone else who'll be at the Meet tomorrow. i can also borrow one from my team mate only if his race isnt too near to mine. IF all is lost, the only solution will be to run in my trainers. Argh! That is so heavy and clumsy to run in for a sprint race. Sigh, what to do. Can only blame my poor memory...
