Orientation 2005 is over and this means Day 1 of school is going to start on this coming Monday for me. How sad! I never want the fun to end, but the truth of 'All good things must come to an end' just wouldnt allow for that to happen. I feel like whining all I want to somebody right now, but I am not just about to do that. Because I know that although orientation is over, my fun and laughter with 05s16 has not ended. There is many more to come... alot more! If you were to ask me to compare Orientation 2004 with the one for this year, I cant give you an answer. There were the good times, there were the bad times. And I am referring to both orientations. Orientation 2004 was a huge blast, all thanks to my OGLs, Lydia and Dominic. They did a really good job in forging great bonds within 04s10. There were also the people who made up 04s10 who made the difference. If not for them, no matter how much Lydia or Dominic tries to rah-rah the entire OG, we can all still be as quiet as a mouse. Of course, there is JingLong who I want to thank. He is the person who open me up to s10 and set me to 'come, let's chat' mode. Orientation 2005 is definitely full of fun. I took 05s16, a triple science class. Frankly speaking, the first time when I got hold of the list and found out it was an S6 combination class, I was really worried about doing a good job of bonding the class. Luckily, I was a little wrong and a few people in the class proved me wrong. Notice that I mentioned 'a little wrong' and 'a few people in the class', and not 'all wrong' and 'the class'? An S5 combination class is definitely different from a triple science class. S5 combi goes for all the fun, with unlimited enthusiasm. A triple science class, as for my case, tries fun, but does not push it to the limit. Enthusiasm department needs improvement. There are those few people who do not like to direct all attention to themselves with all the screaming and super loud cheering and dancing. But what I am saying here is a stereotypical and 'general' comment. I am so appreciative of those people who 'proved me a little wrong'. They are the people who goes for the non-compulsory outings and make their own orientation much more fun. They include Aaron, Wanzhen, Wee Kim, Vivien, Joceyln and Peck Ying. They are the ones who show me that there is hope for the class whenever I see the class dying in enthusiasm. Dance Party on Friday night wasnt a failure, but I wouldnt consider it a total success. Maybe it has got to do with the volume of music. It was rather soft, resulting in 05s26 getting hyper, then dying, and then getting hyper again, then dying again. They dance, then stop moving, dance, then stop moving, even though the music was playing. It looks kinda weird. But after Sam da Man brought down the two speakers to enhance the volume, whoa, the dancefloor was rocking. Not all from 05s16 went down to the dancefloor, but quite a few of them followed me there to help rock the place. I felt that the Year1s only got 'high' at a rather late time. Both me and Andre agreed on that. It was unlike 2004. There was only one giant dancefloor at the centre of the parade square for people to do solo moves. This year, the different OGs formed their own mini-dancefloors. They formed a circle with their own OGs, which is basically their own class. But never mind about that. At least I manage to get high for Dance Party 2005. Initially, I thought that all I will be doing is trying to persuade 05s16 to the dancefloor all the way without success. But, I did succeed a little, and got them dancing with me. It's quite sian la. Enthusiasm and the high has got to be built up. The dance floor got rolling rather late and before you know it, everything is ending. hAiz! If I am not enlisted early next year, I am sure to crash the dance party. I want more fun! Heck about school la! Okay, I am just joking. It's the A-Levels this year, mind you, JASON!
