Do you prefer your life predictable or the other way round? In Jasin's blog, she mentioned why everything in life is so unpredictable. I can only say that we shouldnt complain about this. If life is all so predictable, then why continue living? You know how tomorrow is going to be like, you'll know what's happening 10 years later, and eventually, you know that you are going to fade away from humanity and become part of the carbon cycle. If you know that your relationship with your present partner is not going to last, will you put a stop to it immediately without thinking whether is there any way out to this? Anyway, all my examples are pure rubbish, since there is no way life is going to be predictable for you.

Well, something unpredictable happened on Sunday. It was NJ Track & Field's Seniors' Farewell 2004. Why unpredictable? As a normal human being, I assumed a few things and predicted how this event might have turned out long before it actually happened. I thought that it'll be so damn boring and shitty. Of course, since I mentioned unpredictable, the whole thing turned out pretty interesting and fun.

All the juniors did their fair share of allocated work. The decor committee did a pretty job of doing up the entire function room; the place was like shit before anything was put up. The food committee brought sufficient food for everyone. Wait, sufficient is an incorrect word. We brought more than enough food for all. There was quite alot of food leftover at the end of everything. Games was the best. Titus came up with some good and silly games. They were so silly that the entire function room was laughing their arses off during the games segment. There was the mass charades, which is actually a similar game I used to see on Super Sunday(a taiwanese variety program). As the name suggests, 5 people stand in a line facing in one direction. The second person turns around to face the first person and he/she acts out the word(s) to the second person while the rest sees none of the action. This goes on 1 by 1 till the last person, and he/she will guess what the word(s) is/are. As the relaying gets on from person to the other, the spectators will get to see how the action changes if the second person interprets the action wrongly. It is a game for the masses with tonnes of laughter I assure you. But the people playing the game have to be spontaneous. Otherwise, half-cut actions totally spoil the game.

All the fun and laughter aside, it was a day of bad luck for me too! I lost my bunch of keys, resulting in bad lectures from my mum that lasted 2 days. This is the second time I lost my keys, with the first time due to carelessness. This time, it was just pure bad luck. I lent my keys to Rachel, Sihui and Sok Wai to do some poking of holes into some cardboard cards, since they are running short of scissors. So, being the nice guy that I am, I loaned them my precious keys. However, for being the good Samaritan, I received nothing but scoldings from my MaMa. hAiz... poor me.

The next unlucky incident was taking a midnight cab. Omigosh, I'll really think more than just twice to take a midnight cab again. I have never taken a midnight cab before, so I thought there will just be an extra surcharge of like $1 or $2 for the ride. But guess what? The meter was jumping by 15 cents each time! And it was jumping like crazy! Wah lau, scary man! The stupid ride left me $8.20 poorer, for just a journey from Pandan Valley to Bukit Merah! What the hell la!

Actually, I am not just complaining about being $8.20 poorer. The real deal was, I could have easily lost my life on the cab. I think the cabbie was feeling drowsy. When I hopped onto the cab, I couldnt tell from the short conversation between me and him that he was drowsy or what. The short conversation was just simply, "Uncle, Jalan Bukit Merah, Kim Tian Road.", "Kim Tian Road? Okay!" And then, he hit off onto the road. On this particular straight stretch of road, he handled his steering wheel in a very precarious manner. Swerving left and right like nobody's business, I felt like I was dangling in mid-air from a chopper holding on to just a piece of thin thread. I did not check if what I thought was true with the cabbie as I did not want to complicate matters. You can say I'm hum-jee, as I think I am too. But anyway, it was one hell of a stupid taxi journey. My life was put to risk again when he was travelling on the expressway, this time, worse than before... Road drivers reading this, PLEASE, next time you're tired, dont drive and put yourself or your passengers at risk...

Guess that's how a Libra lives his life. A life of balance. One side containing unpredictably interesting events, while the other full of unpredictably bad luck!
